summary

our objectives

Launched in 2023, the 3-year Sport 4 Resilience project aims to contribute to the development of civic-minded, tolerant and resilient youth in the face of societal challenges in Kosovo, Northern Macedonia and Montenegro. PLAY International partners with REGSPO (Regional Sport Initiative - Playing Together) in Montenegro and TAKT (Together Advancing Common Trust) in Northern Macedonia.

Together, they contribute to strengthening vulnerable communities through sport, building resilience, promoting education and fostering social cohesion by following two objectives:

- Strengthen children's psychosocial skills and resilience in the face of discrimination based on gender and minority status in formal education.

- Strengthen the resilience of young people (aged 15-24) to the risks of radicalization and discrimination in the Western Balkans.

The “Sport 4 Resilience” project aims to strengthen vulnerable communities through sport, build resilience, promote education and foster social cohesion through the collective efforts of partner NGOs, educational institutions and enthusiastic volunteers.

testimonies

Shpëtim Ramadani, a volunteer trained for 1 year by PLAY International and certified as part of the EJO project, spoke about his experience with PLAY and the Sport 4 Resilience project:

“As a volunteer, I took part in implementing activities with children from my community. It was an enriching experience to see the power of sport as a tool for learning and inclusion. Through playful activities, we encouraged resilience, teamwork and empathy, enabling each child to discover his or her unique potential. I saw first-hand how sport can break down barriers, creating an environment where every child feels valued and able to reach their full potential, but above all safe, regardless of ethnicity, gender or social status.”
